The TV show that has been running successfully for 7 seasons has definitely taken some of its fans through a river of emotions and horror as a result of the constant innovative thoughts and story changes.The story has built the base of characters and has gradually developed strong connections with each one of them.

The once proud small town sheriff's deputy played by Andrew Lincoln (Andrew James Clutterbuck) is seen in a new light as his character opens up about his fears and then gains the courage to go on a mission which is genuinely concerned with the well-being of the community.
According to HollywoodReporter, when all hope is lost and the people of the community everywhere have been tormented by the newly developed villain named Negan, Rick had taken a hard fall in the past 8 episodes after which his character has seemed to lose all the pride and he has become a better person. We see Rick leading the group of people into a fight for freedom and also empower them so that they gain confidence. The character has become more liberated, more conscious and diplomatic rather than the being arrogant and proud, like Rick in the past used to be.
Rick will be seen to lead two other communities and a few key members of the group in order to fight back against all evil. He has given up his old ways and has now started to rebel. The compassionate behaviour will lead a lot of the viewers to gain a soft liking towards him. The leader in him has woken up after the sufferings and has given new ray of hope in the given situation. According to Tumblr, what you'll see in the latter half of this season is a more compassionate, considerate leader and a diplomat in Rick. You will see somebody who is more cautious, free, liberated and lighter than he's ever been.
