The most horrifying death on the series to date has left its viewers still reeling especially because one of the most popular characters who've been in the show since Season 1 has perished. The viewers were introduced to Governor 2.0 who favors a spiked baseball bat to finish off his victims. With Glenn popped (literally as his left eye popped out after a strong swing), fans are broken hearted just as much as Maggie.

The last time viewers saw Maggie was in that first episode. She was about to have a miscarriage before The Saviors stopped Rick's group's plan to end The Saviors. She saw just as much as the audiences did and it's a wonder how she could've survived that ugly incident mentally and physically. She wasn't attacked by any of Negan's man, or Negan himself, but she suffered a fate much worse than death when her husband and father of her child was brutally slain on his knees a few meters from her.

There was no formal tribute to honor Glenn until last night's episode.  "The Walking Dead" finally made a very tear-jerking script to acknowledge the void that Glenn left behind, Vanity Fair reported. The script steered a little away from the comics to hang on to the last memory of Glenn.

The episode, which was titled "Go Getters", was in a way the showrunners' acknowledgement to the importance of Maggie and Glenn's relationship for the fans. It followed the story of the comics when Maggie and Sasha took refuge in The Colony but met an adversary in the persona of Gregory, Entertainment Weekly reported.

She had a scene where she was sitting beside his grave. What fans didn't see is that she gathered her strength from his grave and created a communication between her, the dead Glenn, and the tiny baby inside her tummy. According to Lauren Cohan herself, it's that same ability that lets her look into the horizon and be the source of strength for other people. It's the reason why viewers shouldn't give up hope that Negan will meet his fate in a way that Maggie deems fit.
