The second film of the American Sci-Fi film “Guardians of the Galaxy” is going to have new exciting characters. One of them is none other than Hollywood action legend Sylvester Stallone.

This announcement was dropped by the film’s writer and director James Gunn on July 23 at the San Diego Comic-Con, a yearly entertainment and comic convention especially arranged by Marvel Studios, Scoop Everyday reported. It is believed that Stallone’s versatility and acting style were one of the reasons why he was chosen to be a part of the box-office film’s spin-off.

“It’s a very, very key, important role. It’s not a huge role. He’s a great and key supporting actor,” Just Jared quoted Gunn as saying.

Although his role in the upcoming film remains a mystery, the "Escape Plan" star was once rumored to be portraying the role of Star-Lord’s (played by Chris Pratt) long lost father, which will eventually played by Kurt Rusell. There are also reports claiming that the 70-year-old actor could also possibly be one of the members of the space pirate team known as the Ravagers.

Meanwhile, according to  Business Standard, other Hollywood big names like actors like Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan will be joining Stallone in the film, which will be shown on May 2017.

Known for his remarkable character Rocky Balboa in the 1976 American sports drama film series “Rocky,” the 70-year-old actor started his career in the Hollywood entertainment scene in 1977 when he did a cameo role in the film “Downhill Racer.” Since then, he earned the respect of the masses and became one of the most distinguished action stars today.
