Mick Rory might just return to being a bad guy in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. This is what actor Dominic Purcell hinted, when he said that his character likely joins Captain Cold as part of the Legion of Doom.
Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) returns in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 as a full-on member of the Legend of Doom. There is a possibility that he might recruit his partner Mick Rory aka Heatwave to join the team too.
Purcell addressed this speculation in a recent interview about Heatwave's relationships in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. He left the possibility open that Rory might return to the dark side. After all, Rory and Snart are a team. Likewise, Purcell said that Heatwave loves Captain Cold, so he might just agree to be with him.
"I don't think Mick is a good guy and there's a lot of history there," Purcell told Screener TV.
Aside from Purcell, Executive Producer Phil Klemmer also addressed this possibility. He teased that Rory might reunite with Captain Cold in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. There is a chance that Heatwave and Captain Cold becomes a team again after the latter recruits his old partner to be with the Legion of Doom.
"When he [Captain Cold] returns to our show, it's most interesting for Rory, because it sets him up for a big backslide," Klemmer told Entertainment Weekly.
Klemmer added that Captain Cold's return in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 makes Rory rethink his loyalties. It puts him in a confusing situation, where he has to choose between being with the Legends as a hero or become Snart's partner again and join the Legion of Doom. After all, he and Snart have always had each other's backs and as what Klemmer said, Rory's loyalty "transcends good and bad."
