Jealousy, competitiveness, admiration and strategy are all parts of the package when a person is related to sports and entertainment industry that puts you under the limelight.  The case of Dolph Ziggler and John Cena is the same in which hatred towards the other is not an outcome of jealousy but mere resentment and admiration. Dolph Ziggler recently clarified his feud with Cena by explaining the real reason behind the hatred.

According to Comicbook, Dolph Ziggler revealed on Smackdown LIVE the truth about the rumor whether he hates his competitor John Cena and also explained the real reason behind this genuine hatred. He stated that although he possess more talent than John Cena and has competed at a level higher than his fellow competitor ever has, he has not branded himself the same way. This lack of relatability with his fans all over the world like that of Cena, has turned his envy into hatred.

John Cena is a well-known wrestler because of the marketing skills that have been applied to increase awareness about the star. The same type of branding has not been done for Ziggler even though he has better skills in the field.

Information from Inquisitor tells us that Ziggler further states that there has to be an essence to a character that people can relate to and that of John's is 'Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect'. He is a person who will not back down and is also the face of the company. This increases his brand and power to be relatable with his fans all over the world. He adds by asking what people know of him and answers that he has created an image in which he is a "jacked" and "shredded" person who looks like a movie star and also has great matches but such things don't connect with everyone.

The people that we see on the screen may have their own insecurities and thought processes which affects their actions and decisions. The question of talent gets over shadowed when the other person doesn't perform as well but is more recognized by the people who mean a lot to them.
