"Harry Potter: The Cursed Child" is reportedly in talks for a film development with Daniel Radcliffe sought to return.

Warner Bros. is reportedly on a phase of negotiating a film version of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" to be released on 2020. New York Daily News reported. The source reportedly went to say that the studio wants Radcliffe to reprise his role as Harry.

However, in a separate report, representatives from the studio recently said that there are no plans to turn the play into a film, Independent reported. Radcliffe on the other hand has made it clear that he has reservations about returning to the franchise anytime soon. However, nothing is set in stone because Radcliffe is not closing on any opportunity to return to the role that made him famous.

The recent installment of "Harry Potter" is in a form of play that opened last July. It was touted as a smash hit on West End after which, creator J.K. Rowling announced that there will be three new Harry Potter ebooks to be released in the future.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" picks up many years after the defeat of Voldemort. Harry, Ron and Hermione find themselves absorbed in the pitfalls of adulthood. Harry's son Albus, feels that his family legacy is a burden to carry for the both of them.

Since the play was announced, fans have been clamoring for a film adaptation to see the franchise continue albeit, through Hogwarts and a new generation of wizards.

Meanwhile, the magical universe is expanding with the upcoming release of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starring Eddie Redmayne. The film is already slated for future sequels with the announcement that it will be made into a trilogy.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is currently playing at the Palace Theater in London. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is slated for release on November 18, 2016.
