"Fargo" creator Nick Hawley discussed what it was like working under Fox and Marvel for the upcoming series "Legion."

In an interview, Hawley said that there is no indication of any issues between both studios in the development of "Legion." Despite having big names such as Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer and Jeph Loeb involved in its development, Hawley said that everyone got along well, IGN reported.

"I just find that everyone is together and they're very excited about what we're doing... So, in an abstract way, it began to be clear to me what the show wanted to be, and it's great to have that sounding board and then to have Marvel as well as a resource," he said.

Talking about what interested him in producing an "X-Men" series, Hawley admitted that while he was "not a huge comic person," what lured him to the project are two morally opposite principles that are valid in their own right, TV Insider reported.

"Legion" is based on a character named David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic who is also a mutant. Speaking about the character, Hawley said that the idea of a character who is struggling to different what's real and what's not real within the context of a world of powered people is interesting to him.

As to where "Legion" will stand between the "X-Men" universe and the Marvel cinematic universe, Hawley did not divulge much information but said that the series was conceived more as a solo.

"It's conceived more as a standalone. I don't want to say too much more about it on that level, but certainly it's not constructed as a back-door anything. It's more just that there's a story that I want to explore that has to fit into that larger universe, which is exciting," he said.
