Fans of "Song of Ice and Fire" where "Game of Thrones" is based on, will have to wait a little longer for "Winds of Winter." In the said book, Danaerys Targaryen might turn into another mad ruler like her father.

"Winds of Winter" is the follow-up to "A Dance with Dragons" which was released in 2011. The book may have had a few delays but Martin's publisher confirms that the book is still on track, Newsweek reported. According to the author's live journal blog, he is still on the process of writing it.

The book reportedly touches on the subject of insanity among the Targaryens which was also brought up in "A Storm of Swords." Danaerys may have the tendency to go after her father Aerys, when the pressure of war proves too taxing during her tenure. There are rumors that says she will eventually burn down an entire city as soon as she arrives in Westeros.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of "The Winds of Winter" since 2011. Others are hoping that the delay for its release is because of a possible back-to-back launch with the last book in the series titled, "A Dream of Spring," Independent reported. Martin is reportedly working on both titles at the same time but Martin has yet to officially confirm the rumors.

Do note that though the HBO television series "Game of Thrones" is based on "Song of Fire and Ice" books, the series has since took a different direction from the original material.
