"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington said in an interview that the final arc of the series will be "very dark before it gets better."
Unable to give any confirmed spoiler, Harrington made it clear that he has yet to receive a script for Season 7. However, based on how the story went in Season 6, he opined the characters will have to earn anything good that may happen to them because things will likely get bleak before a happy ending.
"It's important to stress at this point that I haven't had any scripts, so this is all guess work for me. I think it's going to get very bleak before if there is a happy ending. If there's any sort of win or heroic moment for Jon and everyone else. I think it's going to get very dark before it gets better," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
He went to say that that ahead of the politics affecting the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the White Walkers and Army of the Dead will pose great threat everyone in the Seven Kingdoms.
"I think what we might see this season is those White Walkers and that Army of the Dead really come into force. So that's going to be exciting to see. I don't know what it means. I think with the whole "winter is finally here" business, it means everyone is going to have a really bad time," he said.
Meanwhile, Harrington's co-star Maisie Williams who plays Arya has already read the script for Season 7. The actress teased that "nothing will prepare" the audience on what will happen in the show, Time reported.
"Game of Thrones" is nearing the culmination of everything that happened during its past seasons. Harrington who plays Jon Snow is now the King in the North in Winterfell. Mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is headed to Westeros while Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) now sits on the Iron Throne in King's Landing.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere on HBO in the summer of 2017.
