Following closely after the release of a teaser poster, Activision has finally revealed details about the upcoming zombie mode in "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." To summarize, the plot will be reminiscent of the 1980s.

In a post in the official PlayStation blog, Activision community manager Ali Miller outlined the features of the new iteration of the well-loved survival horror mini-game in "Call of Duty." Instead of the traditional World War 2 battlegrounds, Activision is placing the mini-game and its characters in a space-themed 1980s theme park. Thus, the mini-game is titled "Zombie Spaceland."

According to Miller, the new Zombies mode will feature four new characters. These new characters are called the jock, the nerd, the rapper and the valley girl. The Activision community specialist noted that each of these characters are based on stereotypes of movie characters from the 1980s.

These four characters have all been duped by fictional movie director Willard Wyler to audition for what his supposedly his new film. Instead of starring in a movie, however, the four characters are transported into a 1980s theme park. There are no carnival goers in this theme park. Instead, it is infested by zombies.

The blog post also revealed that the new Zombies mode will also feature updated zombies that are different from earlier iterations. In addition, the Spaceland DJ makes his debut in this latest version of Zombies. The DJ is described by the post as an asset that players will not want to lose while traversing the world of Zombie Spaceland.

Attack of the Fanboy revealed that the characters in the new mini-game will feature the voice talents of Seth Green, Jay Pharoah, Sasheer Zamata, David Hasselhoff and Ike Barinholtz.

Pharoah will also host a live stream on the official CoD Twitch and Youtube channels, the report said. This stream is scheduled to go live on Aug. 17, 9:00 a.m. Pacific time.

Zombies mode is a mini-game that accompanies every CoD game since "CoD: World at War." It pits a team of players against endless hordes of zombies. The players must help each other survive the various rounds using only weapons and ammunition they can find in the levels.
