Video game developer and publisher Square Enix recently confirmed that it is planing to delay the official release date of its highly anticipated title "Final Fantasy XV." The game was originally set for a Sept. 30 release date, but Square Enix pushed the release date two months more and will be officially released on Nov. 29.

In a statement acquired by The Verge, "Final Fantasy" director Hajime Tabata said, "Our objective with Final Fantasy XV was to deliver a Final Fantasy of the highest possible quality to every single person who buys the game."

Prior to the confirmation of the delay, rumors have been brewing that Square Enix is planning to release a massive day-one patch that will add significant amounts of content to the master version of the game. However, due to the scale of the content, the company instead decided to hold back the release and work on integrating the contents into the master version of the game so that gamers will not be required to connect their consoles online just to update the game.

The delay was first reported by Gamenesia when the news outlet was able to get their hands on a leaked instructions manual for GameStop employees. The leak reveals that "Final Fantasy XV" release date will be pushed to Nov. 29, and it also comes with stickers in order to cover the original release date printed on some posters.

These new developments about "Final Fantasy XV" have surely disappointed millions of anticipating gamers who are eager to get their hands into the game. Fans have been waiting for about 10 years for the official release of the game which was first revealed as "Final Fantasy Versus 13" back in 2006.

As part of its marketing campaign and to build hype towards the game, Square Enix released two demoes for the game: "Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae" and the "Platinum Demo." The game also comes with a handful of cross media tie-ups and companion games. These include the computer animated feature film "Kingsglaive," a virtual reality experience for the PlayStation VR, and the mobile game "Justice Monster Five."
