"A Song of Ice and Fire's" sixth installment "Winds of Winter" is almost complete. The sixth novel of author George R.R. Martin is in its final revisions, and publishing of the final version of the book will possibly be released in 2017.

The epic fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is the source of HBO's famous fantasy television adventure series, "Game of Thrones."  Many of the series' fans are expecting that the sixth book series will be released before the sixth season premiere of the famed "Game of Thrones," but it did not happen.

"The Winds of Winter," the book inspiration of the "Game of Thrones" Season 6, is the continuation of events that took place in the book "A Dance with Dragons," a book published in 2011. "Game of Thrones" Season 5, on the other hand, tackled most of the events from the fifth "A Song of Ice and Fire" installment book "A Dance with Dragons."

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 aired without the release of the "The Winds of Winter" book. Based on reports, "The Wind of Winter" was reserved for an October 2015 release, but due to Martin's many writing engagements and projects that same year, the sixth installment to the series of book releases was never completed.

Martin, according to recent reports, is focusing on completing "The Winds of Winter."  Also, there have been reports that the book "A Song of Ice and Fire" "A Song of Ice and Fire" reportedly, will be expanded.  Martin has stated hints that he might continue the story of Westeros beyond the seventh series, "A Dream of Spring," Entertainment Weekly reported. So there is a possibility that the book series behind the hit "Game of Thrones" will not end by the seventh book.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 "The Winds of Winter," meanwhile, came to an end, but has proven to be anything but boring, Entertainment Monthly reported. At the end of the episode, deceased characters and one fan-theory confirmation were revealed. Watch the video below for a "Game of Thrones" Season 6 finale below:
