"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 10 marked the debut of Black Flash. The villain speedster appeared in an attempt to kill Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash.
The CW has since confirmed Hunter Zolomon returns as Black Flash in the DC multiverse. Fans initially speculated he returns in an episode of "The Flash" Season 3. Apparently, that was not the case. Instead, Black Flash appeared in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 10.
The episode gave fans their first clear look at the villain speedster. Thankfully, his appearance did not disappoint. According to Cinema Blend, Black Flash was on a mission as the grim reaper in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 10.
Turns out he has been pursuing Reverse Flash. He wants to take him back to the spirit world. After all, Eobard Thawne is supposed to be dead already. Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) erased his existence when he killed himself in the Season 1 finale of "The Flash."
Unfortunately, the Legion of Doom captured Black Flash first. They lured him in a trap and locked him inside a vault.
Likewise, "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 10 explained the importance of the Spear of Destiny to Reverse Flash. If he has the spear then he can alter his reality, which then of course means Black Flash would no longer pursue him.
Meanwhile, it remains unknown if Black Flash will pop up again in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. There has been no news yet if he also appears in "The Flash" Season 3 or in other DC shows in The CW. However, Teddy Sears, who played Hunter Zolomon aka Zoom, has since expressed his interest to portray the character. Viewers may remember that Zoom turned into Black Flash after Barry called the Time Wraiths on him.
"It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We'll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way," Sears told TV Guide.
