"Gotham" is adding another new character in Season 3. The FOX series has cast "The Purge" actor Raymond J. Barry as a mysterious figure set to be introduced in the back half of the current season.
According to Deadline, Barry will play a significant role on Bruce's storyline on "Gotham" Season 3. His character, Shaman, will enter Bruce's life "with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his own mind. While the Shaman says the fate of Gotham depends upon Bruce becoming the man the city needs him to become, the truth behind his intentions proves to be far more sinister," the site revealed.
Barry's other TV credits include "Ray Donovan" and "Training Day." The actor joins previously cast guest star Ivana Millicevic (Bansee) who has been tapped to play Selina Kyle's long lost mother, Maria Kyle.
"Gotham" will resume its third season with the return of Cameron Monaghan's character, Jerome Valeska. As previously teased by the show's producers, viewers will finally see Jerome embracing his alterego, The Joker, in the remaining episodes.

The storyline, according to the official synopsis, will kick off when Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome, who plans to bring him back to life.
"It is 100% our intention to bring Jerome back," showrunner John Stephens told Zap2it early last year.
"We're going to be playing it again this year and basically extending the idea of the cult of Jerome. We're building the architecture for him to come back. You'll have these underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented and how he's going to come back like in the days of John the Baptist."
"Gotham" also stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Daviz Mazouz, Morena Baccarin, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith and Jessoca Lucas.
Season 3 resumes on Monday, Jan. 16 on FOX.
