The fastest man alive, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is confronted with the dilemma of finding a way to stop the impending death of the love of his life, Iris (Candice Patton). The speedster of Central City is shown fighting to save Iris in a teaser released to promote its 2017 midseason return.
The clip released by Seriendario Com picked from the last episode of this season before it went into its midseason hiatus. It showed how Barry saw a vision of Savitar killing Iris in five months time.
Because of this vision, Barry and the rest of Team Flash went frantically to search for clues in order to stop the what seemingly the inevitable. In fact, the upcoming episode is aptly titled "Borrowing Problems From The Future".
"If we can change one of these events, we can change them all," the Flash declares.
Meanwhile, Digital Spy reported that the Flash could come once again face to face with his sworn arch nemesis, Zoom. It was already predicted by many fans that Zoom will return as the Black Flash.
Actor Teddy Sears even hinted that he wants to return to "The Flash" once his schedule would permit him as he is currently part of FOX network's "24: Legacy".
"Zoom has been transformed into Black Flash, who has quite a place in the mythology of The Flash. He's like the grim reaper for speedsters," he told TV Guide.
"Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series."
"It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We'll just have to see if the guys on the other end [at 24] feel the same way," Sears added.
"The Flash" will return on Jan. 24, 2017, Tuesday 8PM on the CW network.
