The film depicts a group of people trying to survive a mysterious virus by boarding an express train bound for Busan, a southern port city that has fended off the nationwide viral outbreak.

"Train to Busan's" huge success spread speculations that the zombie movie is going to have a sequel. A lot of fans have taken their sentiments to social media to push for the movie's sequel with high hopes. One question that remains is that who will be the leading actor.

According to the director, Goo Yoo will no longer reprise his role after getting killed in the first movie. Rumors surfaced that it might be Song Joong-Ki (Descendants of the Sun) who will play the role of Seok Woo. This has been circulating all over media which makes fans get more excited. Too bad, that the rumors of who will be the lead actor are not yet confirmed. But there is a suggestion that the plot's sequel will be focused on Sang Hwa which is Dong Seok's character, as noted by KMusic.

Seok Woo had a heartbreaking ending in "Train to Busan" as he turned into a zombie after falling off the tracks. He sacrificed himself in order to save his daughter.

"I talked about this with Director Yeon Sang Ho, and I said that I thought my character Seok Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie. But Director Yeon said that when Seok Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died," Gong Yoo said.

So, this ends the speculation that Goo Yong will no longer cast in the second movie. Fans have been eyeing Song Joong Ki as the new Seok Woo for the next installment. However, production is still mum about the idea.

The "Descendants of the Sun" actor is on the verge of accomplishment of his Korean military drama and was lately chosen by the Daily Sports as the most influential person in the entertainment industry. He is busy as of the moment filming "Battleship Island" where he stars as Park Moo-Young, one of the members of the Korean Independence group.

Meanwhile, a confirmation was announced for the "Seoul Station" which is an animated sequel to "Train to Busan". This adds to the validation of a second installment of the South Korean zombie movie.

According to Hollywood Reporter, "Train to Busan" has taken the crown from "Cold War 2", which is the most popular Chinese-language film. The South Korean movie became the top Asian film to gross with $8.52 million.

As of the moment, no release date has been provided for the second movie of "Train to Busan". Fans just need to keep their cool and be patient for the updates.
