The "Birth of the Dragon" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 13 held in Toronto, Canada. No release date has been provided yet for the United States.

The movie stages the true life bout between Kung Fu legend Bruce Lee and Shaolin Master Wong Jack Man in 1964. There are two versions of the story of who won over the past years. Lee claimed that he managed the fight, beating the opponent in just three minutes. The Shaolin Master, on the other hand, said the fight took more than 20 minutes with no certain winner.

A part of the official synopsis stated that: "An affectionate nod to the classic Kung Fu films of the 1970s, BIRTH OF THE DRAGON is a dramatization of the true-life but much-disputed fight between Kung Fu greats Bruce Lee and Shaolin Master Wong Jack Man in San Francisco's Chinatown in 1964. Based on Michael Dorgan's magazine article, "Bruce Lee's Toughest Fight," the film is written by Chris Wilkinson and Stephen J. Rivele, the Oscar-nominated screenwriters of "Ali" and "Nixon," according to Collider.

The movie trailer was released a few days after the poster came for the documentary "Birth of the Dragon." The film is not the initial address to Lee's legend but solely feature a historic fight between Lee and Man, that made Lee distinctive thus making him a legend.

George Nolfi directed the movie to pay homage to Lee's films that encouraged martial arts fans throughout generations. The movie features Philip Ng as the young Bruce Lee, Xia Yu as Shaolin Master Wong Jack Man, and Billy Magnussen. Kylin Pictures and Groundswell co-produced the movie. Director Nolfi spoke of how he got involved in the Chinese production saying that Kylin wants to buy it upfront, Movie Web reported.

The "Birth of the Dragon" supporting casts include Darryl Quon, Darren E. Scott, Ron Yuan, Terry Chen, and Vanessa Ross. Since no information was yet given for the US release date, kindly enjoy watching the trailer for the meantime.
