It's been two years since "The Sims 4" was released, and fans of the life simulation game are wondering when "The Sims 5" will come out. This may not be happening anytime soon, if at all, but fans can look forward to the next downloadable content for the current version of "The Sims."

There are rumors that the next "The Sims 4" DLC is called "City Life." Yibada says that game publisher Electronic Arts has not denied nor confirmed it, but an anonymous email reportedly gave away the surprise.

The report reveals that the email included images as well as a list of features that are speculated to be for the rumored "City Life" DLC. There could be city festivals, apartments, a new career, possibly in the political arena, and a new skill, said to be in basketball. Toddlers might also be introduced.

"The Sims 4" has already received two expansion packs, namely "Get Together" and "Get to Work," as well a good number of stuff packs, such as "Spooky Stuff," "Romantic Garden Stuff," "Kids Room Stuff," and "Backyard Stuff."

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that "The Sims 5" is not going to be developed unless "The Sims 4" is successful.

"We're not working on Sims 5. We're not thinking about Sims 5," wrote game producer Grant Rodiek on the The Sims forum, as quoted by Cinema Blend a year ago. "If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5."

The comment can no longer be found but, according to Cinema Blend, the current Sims is not likely to end up as a flop since there are no other simulation games of its kind in the market. Should the base game not sell so much, it can be surmised that the companies can rake in more sales through DLCs, microtransactions, and other stuff.

Neurogadget thinks that "The Sims 5" might be released some time in 2019 for new generation consoles.

The "City Life" DLC has not been confirmed by EA nor by developers Maxis and The Sims Studio, but since they like to offer new stuff for gamers, it can be expected that more content will be coming in the future.
