As fans eagerly wait for the musical sequel of the Academy Award winning animated film "Frozen," the project seem to be in doldrums. Rather call it a baffling situation, as numerous reasons are being speculated causing delay in the project. While some claim budget and soundtrack causing a hindrance in the production, others have blamed poor storyline and no importance to lesbian rumored plot.

Rumours are also rife that at present Disney has kept the project on hold as it is deferring the expected schedule. It is believed that Disney is currently focusing on its two major live-action releases, "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson and "Little Mermaid" featuring Chloe Moretz. Hence, the development on "Frozen 2" has been pulled back for the moment.

Besides, during a conversation on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show, American actress Kristen Bell, the voice artist of character Anna, revealed that the writers of "Frozen 2" are still working on the storyline, as they want it to be perfect. Hence, a lot of developments are being done.

The reports are introduction of the LGBT role in the fantasy-comedy film has irked Disney. The suggestion for turning Elsa into a lesbian came from Feminist Culture founder Alexis Isabel Moncada. As Moncada tweeted about it with a hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, various people from the LGBT community and moviegoers tweeted about it and supported her idea.

Moncada expressed that why does the princess always wait for a prince for her rescue; why can't a princess help another one and fall in love with each other, MTV News reported

Interestingly, the co-director of "Frozen" Chris Buck had already in the past hinted towards some major change and talked about how such films can be a platform to aware others about social issues. However, Disney's main concern is that the film's audience is mostly kids.

An impressive soundtrack is another pressure on the makers. As the 3D sequel will be full of adventures and more twists, the producers are emphasizing on remarkable songs like "Let IT Go." "Frozen 2" is likely to release in 2018.

Watch "Let It Go" performed by Idina Menzel.
