Considering the popularity among the audience, the network Starz has approved the third and fourth season of British-American television series "Outlander." Interestingly, the third season, based on Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager", will begin where the second season had ended: separation of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), as Claire travels to past once again.

The series, which travels back-and-forth from the 18th to 20th century, will showcase older Jamie and Claire. According to Executive producer Maril Davis revealed to Entertainment Online that there might not reunion of Jamie and Claire.

To get into the older look, Heughan has laid off exercising for some time to get a fat belly. Streaks of gray hair will be added to give him an old appearance.

The second series has already shown the old Claire in the end episodes. It was shown that Claire had left Scotland and traveled back to her own time when she guessed that Jamie failed to survive the Battle of Culloden.

"Outlander" TV series' new season is anticipated to exhibit the coming together of aged lovers, Jamie and Claire. However, the romantic sequence won't continue for long as on meeting his love, Claire would realize soon that Jamie had been involved in illegal activities.

She will also learn about Lord John Grey's romantic interest in Jamie, a new character that is rumored to be played by Charlie Hunnam. A known actor is signed up for the second character role supposedly because of a possible spin-off series on Lord Grey.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, "Outlander" producer Matt Roberts revealed that spin-of series on Lord Grey is not completely off the table. However, the team is waiting for a confirmation from Starz network.

The role of Brianna, played by Sophie Skelton, is also likely to be a major role in the third season.

Meanwhile, Heughan had recently revealed that the third season is going to be a "completely different and an interesting season," as both the main characters of the show will be shown in entirely different worlds. As of now, nothing has been confirmed about the broadcast date of the third installment and the number of episodes the season will be offering.
