Marvel and Fox could make it possible to have the "X-Men" universe exist within the MCU and vice versa. The deal could bring Marvel comic book properties owned by both studios in one screen.

At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel introduced incoming additions to the MCU that would be established in upcoming films in TV series. Curiously enough, one of them is "Legion," Screen Rant reported.

"Legion" is show about the son of "X-Men" founder Charles Xavier a.k.a Professor X. Fox owns the film rights to "X-Men" but Marvel is overseeing the series with Fox. Said series is possibly connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If such was the case, the licensing agreement deal between both studios might be similar with Marvel's deal with Sony that resulted in the existence of "Spider-Man" within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb was especially enthused about "Legion."

"We haven't really been able to tell everybody what the whole story is. They'll be able to see it, and when they do, it'll be really clear why those characters were chosen, where they are going, and what's going to happen," Loeb told IGN.

Earlier, showrunner Noah Hawley about the new series also clarified that though technically "Legion" centers on a mutant character, fans should not expect major "X-Men" characters to show up in the series. Fox TV Chairman and CEO Dana Walden also said the same thing but teased that some fan favorites might appear on the show.

"There will be some iconic characters but mostly this is about a new family. It's about an average family who encounters this extraordinary world and children who have mutant powers and they end up on the run, so it's a little bit underground railroad in terms of a storytelling spine," she said.

In addition to the "X-Men" series, the collaboration could also lead to the reboot of the "Fantastic Four" characters which are intimately related to MCU characters in the comic books. The prospect is undoubted exciting for fans who are hoping to see bands of superheroes coming together.
