"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will be the final run for the supernatural drama series before it takes a bow, and fans are no doubt eager to find out what it will bring.

Back in July, The Hollywood Reporter reported that "TVD" Season 8 will have 16 episodes, six less that the 22 episodes the previous seasons offered.  The titles for the first three episodes have also been reported.

Episode 1 is called "Hello, Brother," according to showrunner Julie Plec in a tweet last July.  Episode 2 is said to be called "Today Will Be Different," while Episode 3 is titled "You Decided That I Was Worth Saving," according to KSiteTV.

Since the titles are lines taken from "TVD" Season 1, it can be expected that the stories of the characters will come full circle in Season 8. The first one was uttered by Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) in Episode 1 when he returned to Mystic Falls, while the second was written by Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) in the her diary, also in Episode 1. The third title was lifted from the final episode of Season 1.

What fans can expect is that Damon will be working for a villain in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

"Damon has unfortunately become a little bit of a servant to an evil who has an opinion on what should happen to people who do bad things," said Plec, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. "He's a little bit of a minion at the moment, and we'll have to learn who he's a minion for and why."

Zap2It says the enemy is called Sybil, to be played by Nathalie Kelley, who has the power to erase a person's humanity or conscience, be it a vampire or a human. She is a villain "rooted from ancient times."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will be shown on The CW starting Friday, Oct. 21.
