Kazuya Mishima is truly an unforgettable villain from the "Tekken" fighting game series from Namco. Now, the story mode in "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will give players a peek at this evil fighter's childhood.

The new fighting game will feature a cinematic story mode that will let players take control of Kid Kazuya, Event Hubs reported. A set of screenshots released by Bandai-Namco show a younger Heihachi and the child version of Kazuya squaring off against one another. One screenshot even gave a close look at the face of Kazuya as a kid.

A synopsis published by Attack of the Fanboy reveal that the mode will center on the conflict between the Archers of Sirius and Heihachi's Mishima Zaibatsu. In the story, the Archers of Sirius, a secretive group of exorcists, are subjected to coercive invitations to join the Mishima corporation. Alarmed by the Zaibatsu's persistent efforts, lead exorcist Claudio Serafino steps in to investigate. The story then follows Claudio's efforts to ascertain the reason behind the Mishimas' interest in the Archers of Sirius.

Bandai-Namco also released screenshots of some of Heihachi Mishima's unlockable alternate costumes. Event Hubs said that these costumes can be unlocked by progressing through the story mode. The previews also included images of Claudio's stage, and two of Lee Chaolan's costumes.

Although Kid Kazuya appears in the story mode, Bandai-Namco did not indicate if the character will be playable in versus mode. Event Hubs also said that the story mode will reportedly span several hours.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is the latest installment of the popular fighting game series from Bandai Namco. This particular version attracted considerable attention due to the possibility of cross-platform multiplayer. This was after game director Katsuhiro Harada said that the feature is the game is possible. However, Harada emphasized that it is up to Sony and Microsoft to allow such an arrangement between Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC gamers.

While Microsoft has publicly supported Harada's proposal, Sony remains silent on the issue.
