It has been a long while since a "Narnia" movie hit the theaters. Sony's Tri-Star Pictures in cooperation with The C.S. Lewis Company and eOne will produce another sequel in addition to "The Chronicles of Narnia" film series, titled "The Silver Chair."

"Developing this project with The C.S. Lewis Company has been immensely exciting and a real joy. We are so pleased to team up with our good friends at TriStar and our partners at eOne to introduce this new, magical chapter of the Narnia franchise to fans around the world, both old and new," said Gordon.

Disney Pictures produced "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" in 2005 and "Prince Caspian" in 2008 while Fox produced "Dawn Treader". The aggregation of three films created a box office hit and generated more than $1.6 billion in worldwide revenue.  "The Silver Chair" is going to be the fourth book in the series, Game Spot reported.

"The Silver Chair," tells of Eustace Scrubb's return to Narnia with friend Jill Pole in the year 2356. It would be the second time that Scrubb journeys to Narnia. The two friends fell off a cliff while entering and were directed to a realm of magic and confusion. Same with all previous Narnia books and movies, the story revolves around the two wanderers as they traverse a different, new world. Of course, Aslan will be there to guide the two friends.

The movie also tells the story of Scrubb, Pevensie children's cousin to look for the lost Prince Rilian, King Caspian's son and would be the next king. The production for the movie adaptation already has begun and Mark Gordon Company verified that the movie will enliven "Narnia" with the release of a brand new franchise. All of the featured characters will be original, with different directors and a whole new team that will make up the movie, as reported by Vanity Fair

It was confirmed that David McGee worked on the "The Silver Chair's" script. Ang Lee will direct the fantasy movie. Both collaborated in 2012 for the "Life of Pi" movie.
