"Gotham" will beef up its villains with introduction of Harley Quinn and Killer Croc on TV. The series which is set for a Season 3 premiere have put several Batman villains in front and center in the past seasons.

"Gotham" executive producers confirmed that at some point the show will introduce early versions of "Suicide Squad" members Harley Quinn and Killer Croc, Deadline reported. However, do note that there is no official announcement that the two will appear specifically on Season 3.

"Gotham" executive producers Ken Woodruff and John Stephens explained why this might be their appearance is imminent.

"The Indian Hill that exists in Gothamthat's the bridge to these villains like killer Croc and Solomon Grundy," Woodruff said.

For the uninitiated, Indian Hill is the research facility where experiments on humans and monsters were conducted. The place sits underneath the Arkham Asylum. On the other hand, Stephens explained that it has something to do with Batman's archnemesis, The Joker.

"It's about developing the myth of the Joker, just like we're developing the myth of Batman. It's so we can stretch him over multiple seasons. The cult of The Joker began, and we'll explore how that deepens and changes this year. There are underground movements where they talk about Jerome," Stephens said.

"Gotham" Season 3 plans to bring its currently existing villains in a darker place. In addition, several infamous Batman villains will also be introduced, Screen Rant reported.

Villains set to appear in the series includes The Court of Owls, The Mad Hatter, Solomon Grundy and young Poison Ivy. Given that "Gotham" is set in a pre-Batman era. It is highly unlikely that "Suicide Squad" actors will be cast to appear on the series at the time that these characters will be officially introduced.

"Gotham" Season 3 premieres on Sept. 19, 2016.
