Amazon's alternate history series "The Man in the High Castle" Season 2 will be streaming soon. The Philip K. Dick adaptation of the same name will finally release its long-awaited follow-up to the maiden season this year.

At the Television Critics Association press tour, Amazon offered plenty of information about the new season. In particular, executive producer Isa Hackett was straightforward in revealing that the ending of "The Man in the High Castle" Season 2 was not a dream sequence, Entertainment Weekly reported.

True enough, according Amazon, "As Tagomi attempts to make sense of his experience, he discovers connections between the two worlds that he never expected." Notably, Season 2 will traverse between two timelines while forwarding the plot.

The series was subjected to delays caused an alleged clash between showrunner Frank Spotnitz and the management. Spotnitz will reportedly step back as a showrunner. Instead, he had been relegated as Executive producer for the show, Deadline reported.

Nonetheless, Spotnitz said that there still "so many issues to explore" since the show is science fiction. He went on to allude the idea that the world created on the show could extend beyond the Pacific States or Third Reich.

"The Man in the High Castle" is touted as a visually impressive 10-episode affair backed by a solid but complex plot about history before going full science fiction. The series takes place in an alternate 1962

Meanwhile, "The Originals" actor Sebastian Roche has been cast in a recurring role as a wealthy high-ranking Nazi official based in Berlin who wants to reconnect with a major character.

"The Man in the High Castle" Season 2 will premiere on December 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
