Calista Flockhart is returning to "Supergirl" Season 2, but her role has gotten limited to that of a guest star.
The 51-year-old actress is set to return to CW's "Supergirl" Season 2 as the CatCO CEO, Cat Grant. Flockhart will begin filming in Vancouver next week, Entertainment Weekly reported. Though it is still not clear as to how many episodes will her character appear on the show, it is said that she will be having a considerable screen space.
Along with the fans, show creators are also happy as Flockhart has agreed to continue on the show. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has said that they are very excited as "Supergirl" would not be complete without the amazing Cat Grant.
Kreisberg could not be more accurate as Cat Grant is a fan-favorite, and the way Flockhart has portrayed the role, it is difficult to imagine anyone else in her shoes. "Supergirl" Season 2 would have lost a good deal of charm had Flockhart not returned.
In other news, it was said that "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Hoechlin is coming to the show as Kara's cousin, Superman. Last week he was seen donning the superhero suit for the first time on the set of the show, Entertainment Tonight reported.
It is worth mentioning that Flockhart was a regular cast on "Supergirl" Season 1, which was being filmed in Los Angeles where the actress is based. However, when "Supergirl" moved to Vancouver for its second run's filming, her role came under the cloud as she was not willing to relocate. Well, now things are sorted and fans can expect to see Cat Grant once again.
"Supergirl" Season is slated to air on the CW on Oct. 10.
