"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 will feature the much awaited proposal of Deeks to Kensi - a storyline that has been longtime coming for the fan-favorite couple on the CBS drama.
Speaking with TV Line at San Diego Comic Con, "NCIS: Los Angeles" co-stars and onscreen lovers Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah have teased their characters' relationship milestone.
"Engagement for Kensi and Deeks, but not in a traditional sense of the word," Olsen shared in the interview.
"This is probably the craziest season for these two characters that we've ever done."
Ruah, who is expecting her second child in real life, said that the writers have come up with an arc to hide her pregnancy. As to what fans can expect from Kensi and Deeks' engagement, the actress teased that "it's gonna be powerful."
The couple's engagement on "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 will raise some major career questions for Kensi as the series moves forward, TV Guide reported. Showrunner Scott Gemmill addressed whether Kensi will shift to a different career path following the big event for the couple.
The showrunner weighed-in that for Kensi, who is a woman with a set of skills and who's also committed to a serious relationship, will face a tricky decision making road ahead on "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8.
"It's a tricky question, especially for Kensi, because of being a woman," Gemmill told the publication.
"I think there's extra pressure on her to choose one way or the other."
"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season premieres on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8PM.
