Pictures of the vehicles used in the eighth installment of the popular "Fast And Furious" franchise have circulated online, while lead star Vin Diesel recently talked about plans of extending the franchise to include spin-offs from the different characters of the movie.
In an exclusive report in Variety, Diesel and the producers have confirmed that there are preliminary plans of developing both prequels and sequels, with possible spin-offs focusing on the different characters of the movie. Diesel did not say who among the possible characters may get their own movie yet, but it is common knowledge that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who plays agent Luke Hobbs in the film, has expressed his desire to have his character featured in a separate movie.
Diesel has also confirmed that they have written story lines for the different characters, noting that they have been playing it for a long time, and that it is a very rich property that they are treating with class. Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley also confirmed the news, stating that talks are taking place in order to expand the reach of the franchise.
According to Headlines and Global News (HNGN), "Fast 8" is due to hit theaters next year and will feature new and cool cars that are customized to adapt to the snowy conditions in Iceland, where the film is on location. The vehicles include the Dodge Ice Charger which will serve as Dominic Toretto's (Diesel) muscle car, the Rally Fighter for Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), the Ice Ram for Luke Hobbs (Johnson), to name a few.
