"Wreck-It Ralph" is returning to the big screens.

On Thursday, Disney announced that they are currently in the works of developing a sequel of the hit 2012 animated film starring John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman. The logline of the sequel will find Ralph and his side kick, Vanellope von Schweetz, wrecking the internet. Rich Moore, who directed the original pic, is set to helm the project with Phil Johnston attached to write the script and Clark Spencer as producer.

"From the moment we started working on the first Wreck-It Ralph, we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters," Deadline quoted Moore as saying.

Since "Wreck-It Ralph 2" will tackle the internet, the movie will take place in a current setting.

"It will be exactly four years, or no, six years after the first Wreck-It Ralph," Collider quoted Moore as saying in an interview.

While Ralph and co. will navigate the contemporary gaming era in part 2, filmgoers should still expect that the follow-up story will still explore on the arcade era.

Moore explained that they are trying ot find that balance of how they can have those great kind of references to hero arcade culture. But also make it feel that it is also a contemporary world with new stuffs people can find on the web.

Lead co-stars John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman are already locked in to reprise their respective roles. However, supporting cast members are still in the process of officially closing a deal with Disney.

Nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars and the Golden Globes, "Wreck-It Ralph" was a huge success in the global box office, earning more than $400 million during its 2012 release.
