James Marsden is the recent addition to the long list of actors rumored for the "Green Lantern" role. He is rumored to play Hal Jordan, among other actors including Armie Hammer and Bradley Cooper.

A source claimed Marsden's portrayal of Teddy Flood on "Westworld" prompted filmmakers to add him to the contenders for Hal Jordan. The insider, who is said to have knowledge about the movie, revealed that Marsden's name recently came up following his portrayal of the gunslinger in the HBO series.

"Ever since Westworld Marsden has been pretty hot around here. They've discussed him for Hal as well," the source told We Got This Covered.

However, the source could not confirm whether the shortlist of actors revealed by The Wrap is legit. Among those actors on the list include "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Bradley Cooper and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." actor Armie Hammer. Other names include Joel McHale, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Cruise.

The insider added that producers are also considering bringing back Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. The "Deadpool" actor portrayed the comicbook superhero in the 2011 "Green Lantern." Likewise, the source said that the movie is looking to cast Hammer if not Reynolds.

This is not the first time Hammer's name came up with regard to the "Green Lantern" casting. Fans initially thought that he has been confirmed as Hal Jordan after Joe Manganiello congratulated him on a new project. Likewise, film producer Geoff Johns started following Hammer on Twitter.

Hammer also shared a photo of his bonding time with Manganiello on his Instagram. Since then, fans speculated that he is now part of the DCEU like Manganiello.

Regardless, Warner Bros. has remained mum about its official casts for the "Green Lantern" movie. Likewise, details about the film remain scarce. Writers Justin Rhodes and David Goyer have so far only confirmed that the movie will focus on Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
