The Green Lantern Corps has finally made one step ahead with the confirmation that David Goyer and Justin Rhodes will co-write the script for the movie.

As cited by Yahoo, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Warner Bros. tapped the two to do the script for the highly anticipated movie. Goyer has long been involved in DC projects such as "Man of Steel" and "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice." He was also a part of the Dark Night Trilogy and a showrunner on NBC's Constantine.

Now that Goyer has formally been announced to take charge on the Green Lantern Corps movie, Comicbook reported that the producer has already made a one word remark on how he would do the movie better.

According to reports, the movie will revolve around Hal Jordan, played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 movie, and John Stewart, a recognized African-American hero. The film will be produced by Goyer while Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will be the Executive Producers.

It can be remembered that the 2011 Green Lantern live action movie was not as successful as expected. Some fans suggested that one of the factors which may help improve the storyline of the movie is to highlight the character differences between Hal and John. Hal has maverick sensibilities while John Stewart has no-nonsense demeanor. Accordingly, the movie would have been better if the contrast between the two opposing characters was emphasized.

At present, the casts for the movie has not been revealed yet, but the movie is reportedly slated to be out in 2020. Meanwhile, Sterling K. Brown took it to Twitter to say that he is interested in taking the role of John Stewart in the movie. Based on the comic version, Stewart is designated as a back-up to Hal Jordan's space cop in 1971's Green Lantern/Green Arrow No. 87.

Recently, Sterling was also casted as N'Jobu in another Marvel Comic Black Panther. He will play alongside Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, and others. The movie is set to be released in February 2018.
