"Blindspot" Season 2 might bid goodbye to Dr. Borden too, if what showrunner Martin Gero said in an interview is any indication about his fate in the show. Someone wants the psychiatrist down so bad, that this person might just go to the extremes and kill him.
Gero teased that Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) could be in trouble in the midseason of "Blindspot" Season 2. A member of the FBI wants to get her revenge on him. This person is no other than Patterson (Ashley Johnson).
The showrunner may have hinted to the psychiatrist's demise in the hands of Patterson. She wants payback for what he did to her and to the FBI.
"Patterson is mono-fixated on bringing this guy down, as she never had been," Gero told TV Guide.
In fact, the showrunner said, that the back half of Patterson's story in "Blindspot" Season 2 is all about her revenge on Dr. Borden. She might go to extra lengths to make sure she gets her revenge.
The anger that Patterson felt towards Dr. Borden is obvious in "Blindspot" Season 2 episode 12. To recap, she had asked Nas (Archie Panjabi) if she could go with the team in their mission to capture Shepherd. She admitted to Nas that she wants to make sure that Dr. Borden is there too, when the FBI infiltrates Sandstorm.
It is still unclear what Patterson's plans are when it comes to her revenge on Dr. Borden. However, she might just commit a crime and kill her ex-boyfriend.
Likewise, "Blindspot" Season 2 episode 12 introduced a new Sandstorm member, who does not appreciate how Dr. Borden runs the operation. This person might get fed up being his errand boy and do something drastic to change his position.
Regardless, it is still unknown who dies in the midseason of "Blindspot" Season 2. Jaimie Alexander (Jane) told the publication in a previous interview, that this person's death shocked her. She added that it is a sad episode in the show.
