Mark Ruffalo's Hulk might get a new love interest in "Avengers: Infinity War." Speculations are rife that Liv Tyler is in the film to reprise Betty Ross, Dr. Bruce Banner's old flame.

Tyler is said to be among the star-studded casts of "Avengers: Infinity War." The Daily Record reported that she is scheduled to be in Scotland by the end of February, where most of the filming happens.

Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to confirm the actress' involvement in the sequel. Tyler herself has yet to comment on these speculations.

It is interesting to point out though, that it would not be Tyler's first appearance in a Marvel film. She once played the role of Dr. Bruce Banner's love interest in the 2008 "The Incredible Hulk." She was paired with Edward Norton, who portrayed the angry green giant.

Tyler's reported appearance in "Avengers: Infinity War" could only hint to one thing-she could reprise her 2008 character Betty Ross. If this happens, then Hulk might have a new love interest in the movie.

This is understandable, given what happened to Banner and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Natasha Romanova and Dr. Banner seemed to have parted ways in the movie. The film hinted there is no chance of a romance happening between Hulk and Black Widow.

Likewise, Tyler's role is associated with an important character in the "Avengers" comic book storyline. Betty Ross is the daughter of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. William Hurt portrayed the character in "The Incredible Hulk" and reprised the role in "Captain America: Civil War."

However, there is no word yet if General Ross will be in "Avengers: Infinity War," although Hurt hinted his return in a previous interview. He told IGN that Marvel Studious has not "fired him yet."

Now, whether Tyler will reprise Betty Ross and be Hulk's new love interest remains unclear. Fans will eventually find out when the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" opens in US theaters on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively.
