"General Hospital" actor Bradford Anderson has landed a guest starring role on "Homeland" Season 6, prompting the actor's character, Spinelli, on the daytime series to be recast.

Anderson's casting on the hit Showtime series was reported by TV Line on Wednesday. The actor said that he is set to appear in multi-episodes, but details about his character were not disclosed due to the ongoing holiday week.

On "General Hospital," Anderson's Spinelli has been recast. A rep from the long running daytime series has confirmed that "Days of Our Lives" alum Blake Harris will take over the role in light of Anderson's departure. He will begin his GH gig as Spinelli for a few episodes in mid-January, the site revealed.

Anderson took to social media to address his abrupt exit on "General Hospital." On a Facebook post, he shared that "Homeland" is a show that he "loved since it began," and to be part of it is "pretty exciting."

"The unfortunate part is that it conflicted with some episodes of GH that I was supposed to do, and I had to back out of those episodes. To make it even worse, it all happened last minute. I put GH in a very difficult position and for that I am incredibly sorry.

GH took whatever steps they needed to proceed without me. My plea to you is to be compassionate, understanding, and appreciative of whatever decisions they made. If anything looks or sounds different than you're used to, understand that it's because of a decision that I made. The situation was created by ME," the actor explained.

Showtime recently dropped the official trailer of "Homeland" Season 6, giving fans of Quinn a brief tease in the closing moments of the clip.

"Homeland" Season 6 will kick off on Sunday, Jan. 15 on Showtime. The series stars Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend.
