BBC One has dropped a new trailer for "Taboo," a new series starring and executive produced by English actor, Tom Hardy.

"Taboo" hails from "Peaky Blinders" creator, Steven Knight. The series will debut in the US on Tuesday, Jan. 10th on FX and will also get a UK release on Saturday, Jan. 7th on BBC One. Ridley Scott, Kate Crowe, Scott Free, Dean Baker and Chips Hardy are also attached as executive producers.

On Saturday, a new footage of the 8-episode miniseries has been dropped by the network (via Youtube), giving fans a deeper look into the dark world of "Taboo."

Set in 1814, "Taboo" follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a man who was believed to be long dead and returns home to London from Africa. His main objective is to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.

In addition to Hardy, "Taboo" is packed with an ensemble cast which includes Oona Chaplin, Jonathan Pryce, Stephen Graham, Michael Kelly, Jessie Buckley, David Hayman, Tom Hollander, Jason Watkins, Franka Potente, Jefferson Hall, Ed Hogg, Leo Bill, Christopher Fairbank, Richard Dixon, Mark Gatiss, Nicholas Woodeson, Lucian Msamati, and Robert Parker.

"Taboo" marks as a third project for Hardy and Knight after collaborating on recent projects such as the film, Locke in 2013 and BBC/Netflix's drama, Peaky Blinders from 2014 until 2016.

Hardy is also known for appearing in feature films such as "Inception," "The Revenant," "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Mad Max: Fury Road." He has a new WWII film coming up titled "Dunkirk," which is set to be released in on July 21, 2017. Harry Styles and Cillian Murphy are co-starring.
