The death of another beloved celebrity this year has shocked all of us as 2016 is nearing its end. "Star Wars" celebrity and beloved Princess Carrie Fisher has passed away this morning. While it's a tragic loss that a known figure in the "Star Wars" universe will no longer show her face in the upcoming films, many are also wondering: What will happen to the rest of the films?
According to Variety, this won't be the last time we'll be hearing from the beloved actress who captured our hearts from both the classic and new trilogies. Fisher has reportedly finished shooting her scenes in July as Princess Leia Organa for the next chapter in the "Star Wars" franchise, "Episode VIII." Thanks to the actress's hard work and passion, the film will now be in post-production.
This still begs the question though on how it will affect the ninth episode, since Fisher has reportedly signed in to be on-board for all three movies in the new trilogy.
Reports say that the beloved actress has just passed away this morning due to a massive heart attack on Dec. 23, as confirmed by a family spokesperson. Fisher was at the age of 60 when this tragedy happened.
While the actress was best known for her role as the princess-turned-general Leia Organa, Carrie Fisher also turned her efforts to work on being a writer and script doctor, whose job is to polish scripts for films. She polished scripts for films such as "Hook," "Sister Act," and even the "Star Wars" prequels.
The actress has reportedly been subject to substance abuse and mental health issues in the past. Fisher, however, voiced her past personal struggles and has long been an advocate for others who share the same mental problem as hers.
She always had her French bulldog named Gary to be her therapy buddy at her side, even to red carpet interviews.
