A new face is headed to Mystic Falls in an upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries." "The Lying Game" actress Alexandra Chando has landed a guest starring role on the hit CW drama.
According to TV Line, it was announced that Chando has been tapped to play a doctor named Tara in the current season's upcoming eight episode titled "We Have History Together." According to the site, Tara's morals will be tested by Damon and Stefan as they continue their quest for dark souls. The episode is helmed by star Ian Somerhalder.
No word yet if Chando's character will recur in the remaining episodes.
The network also released the official synopsis for the episode (airing on Jan. 13), it reads: "Stefan and Damon attend an anger management support group looking for their next victim. Sybil is still alive and teaching a group of high school students who she'll later use as leverage to get Caroline to locate a historical artifact that can be used against her. Meanwhile, Stefan and Damon continue their commitment to Cade as they test the morals of a young doctor, Tara."
Chando took to Twitter to announce her guest starring gig on "The Vampire Diaries," with a status that reads "Jan. 13!"

In addition to her work on the CW's short-lived series The Lying Game, Chando has also made guest appearances on Castle, Hindsight and Outcast.
The Vampire Diaries is a hit drama series which hails from Julie Plec. Set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, the series follows the lives of Damon and Stefan Salvatore as they try to find normalcy while living with the curse of being vampires.
The series also stars Wesley, Candice King, Kat Graham, Matt Davis, Michael Malarkey, and Zach Roerig.
The show will air its series finale on Friday, March 10 on the CW.
