The midseason trailer of "The Flash" has been released, giving fans a glimpse into Barry's plans in order to save Iris from her impending death.

As revealed on the show's fall finale titled "The Present," Barry traveled to the future and saw Savitar killing Iris. Presented with a new challenge, Barry must figure out a way to alter the future timeline to save the love of his life. But will he succeed?

The trailer gives fans a sneak peek into the scarlet speedster's meticulous planning with Team Flash as they brainstorm how to control Iris' destiny and ultimately, stop Savitar.

"We need to figure out what happened leading out to Iris' death," Barry said on the preview.

"If we can change one of these events, we can change them all."

In a report from TV Line, one of the show's executive producers said that this new ordeal will serve as Barry's driving force in the remaining episodes.

"Obviously Barry loves Iris more than anything," said showrunner Aaron Helbing of Barry's latest ordeal.

"And now that he has gotten a glimpse of the future, the thrust of the back half of the season is Barry trying to do whatever it takes to save her."

Without spilling too much, Helbing assured fans that anything can still happen and that the future is "malleable."

Team Flash still has five months to make their plan work. It's unclear if this storyline will be dragged out until the season finale. Hopefully more details will emerge when the CW released the official synopsis in the weeks ahead.

"The Flash" stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Keiynan Lonsdale, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, and Jesse L. Martin.

Season 3 returns with the winter premiere episode titled "Borrowing Problems from the Future," on Tuesday, Jan. 24th on the CW.
