Vin Diesel reprises his role as Xander Cage in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" and the latest trailer is already out to hype the upcoming action/extreme sports movie. But Diesel is not alone as he'll have help from well-known martial arts actors from Asia.
After more than a decade, the original xXx is back and it features more outlandish action scenes and stunts. The upcoming movie "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" recently released their first trailer according to Uproxx. Just like the first film, the third installment of the franchise offers more extreme stunts as Diesel goes through the jungle downhill using skis and roller skating downhill with incoming vehicles.
But aside from extreme stunts, the movie also promises a lot of action and fight scenes. Although Diesel himself will have his hands full fighting against baddies, the upcoming film will also feature two popular martial arts actors from Asia: Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa. Yen is well known for his portrayal of Wing-Chun teacher and future mentor of Bruce Lee in "Ip Man" while Jaa became one of the most celebrated martial artists today for his gritty movie "Ong Bak."
According to Collider, the upcoming sequel is the third in the series although Diesel is not the main character in the sequel. Instead of Diesel, the Ice Cube became the new xXx where he ends up saving the president. Although the explanation of Diesel's reason for return and absence is not indicated in the trailer, his return focuses on something else as he's tasked to save the world from bad guys with nukes.
Diesel's return as the main character in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" means that this is his third movie franchise. Diesel is well known for his "Fast and Furious" series since it's already on its 7th installment and an 8th movie is also coming soon. The action star is also well known for a film series that chronicles the adventure of an anti-hero named Riddick.
"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is scheduled for release on January 20, 2017. Watch the full first trailer of the film below.
