NBA Regular Season 2016-17: Kawhi Leonard comes back at the fourth quarter to bring San Antonio Spurs defeating Miami Heat

Kawhi Leonard came back late at the end of the game, but it was enough to bring San Antonio Spurs to victory against Miami Heat after trailing in the second half .

He led the team in points and assists with 27 points and 6 assist in a 106-99 win against Miami Heat on Oct. 30. He came back and score his 14 points in the final 6:04 minutes of the game as reported by USA Today. Spurs stays unbeaten with a 4-0 record.

Leonard had a cut under his right eyes and had to sit on the bench for a while. But when he saw Miami Heat took the lead, he decided to return to court with a bandage under his eye, as the cut didn’t need a stitch

"It wasn't anything with my eye or retina or anything," Leonard said. "Just under my eye, I got a little cut."

His remarkable performance was also paired by teammate Pau Gasol who made double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. However, San Antonio Spurs laid back after leading 16 points in the first half and let the Heat took the lead until the last six minutes of the fourth quarter when Leonard was back in court.

Meanwhile Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra commended his team that fought well against the San Antonio Spurs despite their loss according to Miami Herald. He said the team need to play like their second half for at least 34 minutes every game night.

Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic also reciprocated coach Spoelstra in his comment. He acknowledged that Spurs is a great team which able to score and lead big. But the 30-year old point guard said that the Heat also played well, particularly in the second half. He said that Miami Heat need to play consistently for 30 minutes of the game.
