NBA Regular Season 2016-17: Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade lead Chicago Bulls to overcome Celtics in their season opener [VIDEO]

Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade led the scoring in the Chicago Bulls opening game this season. Both of them also showed impressive accuracy in hitting three-pointers.

Butler made 24 points while Wade 22 as they defeated the Celtics 105-99 in the United Center, Chicago. Each of them equally shoot 4-of-6 three point. Wade’s three point shoot is one of the most remarkable feature in his regular season debut according to Bleacher Report. Wade also made six rebounds and five assists with 7-of-18 shooting from the field.

Wade has been feeling at home since he joined the Bulls, as Butler sincerely welcome him to Chicago which also Wade’s hometown according to Chicago Tribune. Butler said that nobody can never win the game alone, so the team need many good players that work together to win the game.

"I don't think anybody has ever done it alone. You need as many good players, guys who fall in line in the role on any winning team,” Butler said.

Point guard Rajon Rondo also praised Wade’s experience and his understanding of the game. According to him, Wade’s presence has lightened the burden for the team. He also expected the 34-year old shooting guard will lead the team.

In their first regular season game, the entire team of Chicago Bulls showed excellent teamwork and played their role really well. Center Taj Gibson made a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Rondo delivered excellent passes to his teammate with 9 assists. While off-the bench Nikola Mirotic contributed 15 points and 9 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Their opponents Boston Celtics also demonstrated great tenacity. They fought really well, but that was not enough to win against the solid Chicago Bulls. Although Isaiah Thomas worked hard in the back court along with Al Horford in the rim, but their bench was not deep enough to overcome the Bulls’ bench players.
