It's been almost a decade and gamers have almost lost all hope for Developers Sony Interactive Entertainment's and Team Ico's "The Last Guardian" due to its lack of news from the time it was announced back in 2009. But, now, good news has finally sprung up that the much awaited action-adventure and puzzle game has finally gained a release date. Along with that, Sony has also planned on releasing "The Last Guardian's" own vinyl soundtrack as well.
Based on the radio news report of FOX, after the game has seemingly been in limbo for quite some time and with everyone getting almost dismayed, "The Last Guardian" has finally gotten a release date. According to the news reporter Eammonn Dignam, the story seems to be about boy named Trico who seems to have a "troubled past." Joining him is "a big dog, standing about 20 feet high with wings and bird feet."
"The game has stunning visuals," added the FOX reporter. "And hopefully [the game] will be worth the wait."
In other news, the soundtrack for "The Last Guardian" will be getting its own release later this year as well, according to Polygon. While the Team Ico fans can also enjoy the music digitally, Sony has actually released an actual Vinyl record that features composer Takeshi Furukawa's soundtrack. The music must be THAT good to actually be recorded in vinyl.
The soundtrack will actually feature a tri-fold cover with illustrator Nimit Malavia's artwork of the boy and the creature, with the analog release being handled by iam8bit. The vinyl soundtrack of "The Last Guardian" will be released sometime Q1 2017, but fans can get the preorders for $35.
After being in development for a long time, "The Last Guardian" has "gone gold," according to a statement by the president of Worldwide Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment Shuhei Yoshida last week. The game will be released Dec. 6
