The latest chapter of "Attack on Titan" offers big surprises and twists on Eren's family. As they comb through the remaining journals, the story of Zeke and Eren's father is put to light.
Chapter 86 of the popular manga series "Attack on Titan" is already online on Manga Stream. Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps read the first journal wrote by his father, Grisha Yaeger. In his journal, Eren's father revealed that he was part of the Eldian resistance group as they stand against the oppression of Marleyan government.
After learning that the Marleyan government is planning to attack the stronghold of the Eldians in Paradis Island with the use of Eldian children, the resistance elected to use Grisha and Dina's son, Zeke. The idea of infiltrating the Marleyan government through Zeke backfired when their son betrayed them. Dina and Grisha were sent to Paradis Island as punishment.
The latest chapter will lead to additional storyline especially on the relationship of Zeke and Eren. As his half brother and the one who betrayed his parents, Eren will have to face Zeke about his decision. On the other hand, Grisha somehow ended inside the walls and actually blended in the population without transforming into a titan should be revealed in the journal as well.
The forum discussion on Manga Helpers also confirms that that the explosive chapter opens up a lot of questions about the presence of the titans. While there are titans who has the ability to think like humans even in titan form, the reason for existence of an absent-minded titan is still unknown. Even Grisha's full experiment on Eren is still a mystery.
The upcoming chapters of "Attack on Titan" will continue the story of Grisha as he makes his way to Paradis Island. The remaining chapters will also reveal more about the "Coordinate" who is the sole reason why the Marleyans are attacking.
While the manga continues the story of Grisha, the anime counterpart has been confirmed for season two release in spring 2017. The revelation about the titans and its origins will finally get the anime treatment next year.
