Hi-Rez Studios has been developing awesome multiplayer games like "Smite" and "Paladins." Now, it has another game in development, "Smite: Tactics."

As the name implies "Smite: Tactics" is another hero based multiplayer game based on "Smite," albeit with a twist in its gameplay. Unlike the original game, "Tactics" is a turn based strategy game focused on 1v1 competitive play, according to PC Gamer.

The game description says that that it's "a game of strategy where players will carefully choose which minions to deploy across the battlefield and which gods will lead them." Players will get to utilize armies via collectible cards, and those who played the original game will be familiar with the original cast of gods and goddesses from various mythologies.

Despite details being light for the time being, Gamespot reported that the battlefield will laid out on a grid-like pattern, with both gods and minions both utilized for their abilities in-game against their foes. The gods might still retain their abilities, but won't have the Ultimate abilities from "Smite" for this game. Instead, they are limited to only three unique abilities.

Lead designer Scott Lussier expressed that he "always wanted to expand the 'Smite' universe." He further added that "Smite has millions of fans worldwide, and with Smite Tactics, players will get to experience mythological warfare from a whole new perspective, overseeing battles as their favorite gods and goddesses while wielding their signature abilities."

There hasn't been any other mention of available gaming platforms for "Smite: Tactics" except for the PC. Hi-Rez Studios made it clear that the game has been only optimized to be used with a keyboard and a mouse, or even a controller. With the controller option, this may mean that the game may be available for PS4 and Xbox One. The original game (and even "Paladins") was originally released for the PC, but was eventually ported to consoles.

There hasn't been any release date mentioned yet, but players may access the beta released later this year. They can also sign up early at the game's website.
