"Thor Ragnarok" star Cate Blanchett and director Taika Waititi discuss the tone of the upcoming film.

Blanchett who plays the main antagonist Hela described the making of "Thor: Ragnarok" revealed that she did not get to work much with Ruffalo but praised Waititi's take on the franchise," Entertainment Weekly reported.

"The whole thing was just a riot and fantastic fun. Did you see [director] Taika Waititi's film, Hunt for the Wilderpeople? Or, What We Do in the Shadows? He's just got such a sure hand. He's wonderful - I'd eat him for breakfast if I could. He's absolutely delicious. And he's irreverent which is great because Marvel, at its best, has its tongue firmly in its cheek," she said.

This presumably hints that the movie will have a playful tone. Fans who follow Waititi are hardly surprised because the director is best known for his comedy chops. On Reddit, Waititi has been asked if the movie will feature the similar off-the-wall humor seen in his latest work, "What We Do In The Shadows." To which he replied, "You can expect a Taika-esque tone," Screen Rant reported.

He went to say that is favorite Marvel film is "Guardians of the Galaxy," a film which could have the closest tie-in with "Thor" in terms of concepts, characters and stories. Arguably, "Guardians" is also one of the funniest entries in the MCU. Therefore, it would not be farfetched to think that "Ragnarok" will be similar to "Guardians."

"Thor: Ragnarok" opens on November 3, 2017.
