Ever since the announcements and trailers of the "Harry Potter" expanded universe of "The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has gotten fans excited. While the movie has been planned initially to be part of a trilogy, now it's going to be the first of a five-movie series.
According to Facebook Live Global Fan Event, it was actually "Harry Potter" author and "Fantastic Beasts" screenwriter J.K. Rowling that the upcoming movie trilogy has been stretched to five movies. Along with director David Yates, Rowling has been doing some script sessions and they both concluded that the franchise would have "more than one movie."
"We knew that from the start, and we set a trilogy as a kind of placeholder," said the "Harry Potter" author. "But we've now done the plotting, so we're pretty sure there's going to be five movies."
Back then, Warner Bros. initially announced that the franchise was set for a trilogy. But after much deliberation, Rowling has taken the role of writing the screenplays of the next four movies instead, especially with the sequel of "The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" already having a release date.
Earlier in an article from IGN, there were new character posters for the movie with one of them showcasing a Deathly Hallows necklace. In addition to the earlier declaration of the movie being a "Harry Potter" prequel, this necklace even reinforces the connection between this and the classic series. Even Rowling added that the new movies series in franchise will show the story of Albus Dumbledore and the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.
In the story aside from following the adventures of Newt Scamander, Gellert Grindelwald used to be friends with Albus Dumbledore, both having the desire to make the world where magic folks can co-mingle with regular folks (muggles and no-maj). Things, however, took a turn for the worse, but we won't know until we watch it. For other information on the dark wizard, Grindelwald is supposedly the predecessor of Voldemort.
"The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set to premiere on Nov. 18.
