The new "Predator" movie is on the way and it will be casting "Narcos" star Boyd Holbrook as the lead. Originally it was "Guardian of the Galaxy's" Benicio del Toro who was in talks for the project, but had to back out due to scheduling issues.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twentieth Century Fox had initial struggles with del Toro. This was mainly due to the fact that there were numerous schedule conflicts with the actor especially when he was shot in movies like "Sicario." The studio even moved the date to February 2018 to adjust to the actor's schedule.

But now, rising star Boyd Holbrook will be replacing del Toro's role in the upcoming movie. Based on an article from Variety, the star was already featured in the Netflix drama "Narcos," the show about the life of Pablo Escobar. His other movies include "The Skeleton Twins," "Very Good Girls," "Gone Girl," "Hatfields & McCoys," and one of the lead roles in "The Free World."

The actor also has another movie coming out that also stars Hugh Jackman in upcoming "Logan," which serves as the sequel to 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and 2013's "The Wolverine" that comes out Mar. 3, 2017. Holbrook is said to be a villain in the movie and is joined by other actors such as Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, and Elise Neal.

Directing "The Predator" is Shane Black who is using the script by Fred Dekker. The 1987 movie's producers John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon will be returning to produce the sequel with plans of shooting starting next year.

"The Predator" has been slotted for a premiere on Feb. 9, 2018.
