‘Underworld’ actress Kate Beckinsale to star in Amazon Studios' drama ‘The Only Living Boy in New York’ with director Marc Webb

"Underworld" star Kate Beckinsale is set to star in Amazon Studios' drama "The Only Living Boy in New York." "The Amazing Spider-Man" director Marc Webb is directing it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beckinsale has closed a deal to join the cast of "The Only Living Boy in New York." She will play the mistress role. She finds the son charming and has no intention of leaving the family's life.

"Victor Frankenstein" actor Callum Turner is toplining "The Only Living Boy in New York." He is the recent college graduate who begins a relationship with his father's mistress after finding out about their affair. Other cast members are "R.I.P.D" actor Jeff Bridges and "Justice League" actress Kiersey Clemons.

"The Only Living Boy in New York" is from a script written by "21" screenwriter Allan Loeb, Variety reported. It is taken from a 1970 song written by Paul Simon. It was performed by Simon and Art Garfunkel on their "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album.

Beckinsale is represented by UTA and Hansen Jacobson. She recently starred in romantic drama "Love & Friendship" with "Big Love" actress Chloe Sevigny. She played Lady Susan Vernon and Sevigny as Alicia Johnson. The drama film is Whit Stillman's adaptation of the Jane Austen story Lady Susan.

Beckinsale reprises her role of action heroine Selene in the adventure movie "Underworld: Blood Wars." The upcoming movie is the next instalment in the film franchise and is set to be released in theaters on Jan. 6, 2017.

"The Only Living Boy in New York" is casting up ahead of its filming. It is set to start shooting in early October. Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa, and John Fogel are producing it.
