In a report from Entertainment Weekly, it was announced that Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) has signed on to play a mystery villain on the CW's superhero series. As previously reported by Variety, the "Desperate Housewives" alumna has recently booked a multi-episode arc on Supergirl season 2. Her episodes will begin airing this winter. Producers are staying mum on whether Sorbo and Hatcher's characters will be working together, but co-executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shared his excitement about Sorbo's casting.

In addition to "Hercules," Sorbo is also known for his previous works on "Andromeda," "God's Not Dead" and "Meet the Spartans." He has a new movie coming up titled "Let There Be Light," which follows an atheist experiencing a near-death experience converts to Christianity. It will be released on December 2017.

"Supergirl" is also set to air a musical episode this March. The special event will find Kara crossing over to "The Flash" where the duo will fight DC's iconic villain, Music Meiszter (played by Darren Criss). The songs featured in the episode "Superfriends" and "Runnin' Home To You," are written by Rachel Bloom and "La La Land" songwriters, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul - respectively.

"The Flash" stars Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin and John Barrowman alongside "Supergirl" actor Jeremy Jordan will perform in the musical as well.
